It is considered relentless, extremely realistic, and has had a significant influence on an entire genre: the hardcore shooter Escape from Tarkov will finally be released in its final 1.0 version on November 15.
Since the launch of the alpha in August 2016, numerous games have emulated the Tarkov principle: titles such as Arena Breakout: Infinite, Gray Zone Warfare, Delta Force, and Arc Raiders would probably never have existed without this hard-hitting shooter.
However, Escape from Tarkov is anything but uncontroversial: frequent delays, cheating scandals, anger over heavily overpriced editions, and alleged warning letters against critical YouTubers have repeatedly made negative headlines.
The release will also take place on Steam, where the game is now on over 500,000 wish lists. The countdown trailer Echoes of Unfallen does not show any gameplay, but instead introduces the world and lore of the shooter with atmospheric render scenes.
