Ubisoft remains silent – rumors are rife

Although Ubisoft released the latest chapter in the series, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, just a few months ago, the studio seems far from done with the past. Fans may soon be able to look forward to fresh material on Assassin’s Creed Mirage – completely out of the blue.

The speculation is being fueled by the well-known Leaker ”j0nathan” shared a cryptic image on X (formerly Twitter): an ancient temple with intricate decorations, behind it a barren desert landscape and rocks. Below it, just one sentence: “A new world awaits.” That was all it took to send the community into a frenzy.

This hint fits suspiciously well with a report in the French newspaper Les Echos from January 2025. At the time, it was reported that the Saudi Arabian Savvy Games Group was investing in the development of an unspecified Mirage DLC. However, nothing has been officially confirmed – until now.

“A new world awaits” – where will the journey take us?

It’s not uncommon for Ubisoft to release new content for old games years after their release. But in the case of Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which is about to celebrate its second birthday, the timing is surprising. A temple in the middle of the desert could hint at a new region or even a completely unexplored era. The architecture of the building shown has historians and fans alike puzzling: North African influence, Arabic architecture, or even a trip back to early history?

Such DLC could bring not only new areas to the game, but also fresh missions and characters – perhaps even a change of perspective that confronts the main character Basim with unknown alliances or enemies. “A new world awaits” certainly doesn’t sound like a small side quest, but rather a full-fledged story addition.

Until Ubisoft itself breaks the silence, fans can only wait – and wildly interpret every little clue. One thing is certain: if the rumor turns out to be true, this DLC is likely to be a big event not only for Mirage players, but for the entire Assassin’s Creed community.
