New games are like stars in the sky on Steam. It’s often worth taking a look in the second row – at the inconspicuous, but popular releases!

As usual, we present you with our five Steam hits that are brand new to the Steam universe and threaten to get lost in the bright glow of the bigger stars. So if you have a heart for indies and extra-niche gems, feel free to stay on board now.

This time with a very atypical wizard, a building game that runs its very own track and a big helping of sandbox to relax in. Have fun with our Steam secret tips of the week!

Quick to the game (table of contents)

  1. Railgrade
  2. Wizard with a Gun
  3. The Coffin of Andy and Leyley
  4. Outpath
  5. Tribe: Primitive Builder

Railgrade

(Genre: Automation and Construction – Steam Release: Oct 13, 2023 – Price: 28,99 Euro)

Railgrade is making its way onto Steam and with it a gameplay that has many fans: Factory building, automation, optimization. Visually, the game is a bit reminiscent of Factorio, but relies on 3D graphics. At the center of your growing factory winds a network of rails, on which trains transport your raw materials and goods for further processing.

Wizard with a Gun

(Genre: Sandbox Survival – Steam Release: Oct 17, 2023 – Price: 24.50 Euro)

Holy Straw, a survival western with magic? Publisher Devolver Digital once again ventures into the rather unused spheres. First buyers are taken with the gameplay, which is somewhat reminiscent of Don’t Starve due to the iso-perspective.

You control a gunman who combines western guns with magic, have to explore a dangerous wilderness and get rid of many a magical adversary. Played either solo or in co-op with a friend.

The Coffin of Andy and Leyley

(Genre: Psycho-Adventure – Steam Release: October 13, 2023 (Early Access) – Price: 9.75 Euro)

Why are we sometimes so drawn to the dark?  The Coffin of Andy and Laylay is just such a game, exploring the darkest corners of the human psyche. Important to know: So far, not all story chapters are complete here.

The game is about a brother and sister who start practicing cannibalism after a satanic ritual. And if that’s not creepy enough for you: Incest. The plot is also dripping with black humor. Certainly not everyone’s cup of tea, but with 98 percent positive reviews (out of around 3,100), an absolute niche favorite on Steam.

Outpath

(Genre: Building crafting platformer – Steam Release: Oct 16, 2023 – Price: 14.79 Euro)

Looks almost like Minecraft, but works a good bit differently: In Outpath, you start on a few biome elements, gather your first resources, build a base and equipment, research new recipes, gradually add new biomes, and move across level bricks with a snappy parkour system. All without stress and at your own pace.

As can be seen more often these days, there is also a demo on Steam to try out for yourself. So you can check it out for free and find out firsthand if Outpath might be right for you.

Tribe: Primitive Builder

(Genre: Stone Age Simulation – Steam Release: Oct 12, 2023 – Price: 19.99 Euro)

Has a weekly edition of our Steam hits actually made it without Roguelike for once? The last representative of the list is called Tribe: Primitive Builder and sends you straight to the Stone Age, where you manage your own tribe, build up a base and automate food gathering and co. to keep growing.

The game is published by publisher Playway, which pursues a very unusual business strategy and, as in this case, has already been able to launch numerous fan favorites.

And, was there anything interesting for you this week? Did you find a new game in the list or at least a candidate for your wishlist? Has the format helped you in the past? Would you like to see any changes, new approaches, or more information? Feel free to write it to us in the comment section!
