“Super cool, brand collaboration!” Fortnite will soon feature a new Star Wars event with new skins and gameplay elements.
From meme to Fortnite skin – Darth Jar Jar is part of the new Star Wars event.
In Fortnite you’ll soon be able to wield your lightsaber again, as Chapter 3 of Season 6 will see another collaboration between the popular battle royale game and Star Wars. The event is called Galactic Battle and features, among other things, a meme based on a character from Episode 1: Jar Jar Binks.
The Darth Jar Jar meme: The origin of this fan theory dates back a whole ten years. The Reddit user named Lumpawarroo argues in a very detailed post that Jar Jar Binks is actually a powerful Force user and Sith who even joined forces with Palpatine. This idea then gave rise to the “Darth Jar Jar” meme.
Star Wars in Fortnite
The event starts on May 2, 2025 Players can unlock several new skins via the Battle Pass, including Darth Jar Jar.
The Gungan, who is actually clumsy in the movies, appears in the short teaser as a skilled fighter in a Sith robe with a lightsaber and also uses Force lightning – a new ability available in the event.
Other Star Wars skins are available for Palpatine or Emperor, Mace Windu, a Mandalorian, Poe Dameron, Captain Phasma, and more.
In addition to the return of the lightsabers, a new pistol, an SMG, and an assault rifle will expand your arsenal. You can even take to the skies without a jetpack and sit in the cockpit of an X-wing or TIE fighter and fly them.
In addition to the many new features, all items from previous Star Wars eventsare returning, including skins featuring Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Darth Vader, Chewbacca, and many more.
The chapter is divided into 5 episodes that will form a narrative arc leading up to a big final live event in the game. Given the release dates of the chapters, the in-game event is expected to take place around mid-June 2025.

Incidentally, the appearance as a Sith Lord in Fortnite is not the first time that Darth Jar Jar has made an official appearance in the Star Wars universe. The Gungan seems to have a knack for market correlations, as he has been appearing as a representative of the Dark Side in the Disney Plus series Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy since September 2024.
