EA Sports has taken away faith in a better future from parts of the community due to numerous lapses in the evolution of the FIFA series. An AI shows what the solution can be

Can an artificial intelligence come to EA Sports’ rescue?

A question that one or two people might have asked themselves recently. Since the release of the free AI chat bot ChatGPT, the AI industry has been booming and new applications are emerging almost daily. The creativity of developers seems to have no limits.

But what about ChatGPT itself?

Writing scripts, cooking recipes or poems is part of the standard repertoire for the tool and therefore no problem. But what about FIFA 23 from EA Sports? Can the current version of the artificial intelligence developed by OpenAI “make the impossible possible” and lead the soccer simulation into a better future? We asked and got a whole list of good suggestions right away!

FIFA 23: This is how ChatGPT would make the game from EA Sports better

One of ChatGPT’s suggestions for improvement concerns gameplay. The AI advocates fair as well as balanced online gameplay (adequate matchmaking, anti-cheat systems) and advises regular updates (e.g. bug fixes). Although this is about the basis and the FIFA series is still one of the most popular sports games, large parts of the fans also wish for changes in this area for a long time.

Especially in eSports, when the strongest and best quality gamers meet, the problems are mercilessly exposed. For example, a scene from Leverkusen’s Marc “Marc_ldw23″ Landwehr’s match against BVB pro Eldin “Eldos” Todorovac, played during the knockout phase of the second FGS Qualifier, provided a blueprint for much of what goes wrong in FIFA 23.

But not only in terms of gameplay, the tool suggests constant updates. Creative content or introducing new as well as bringing back old popular modes would also make the game fresh and appealing, as this promotes long-term motivation. In addition, continuous improvements prove the commitment of the developers. Nevertheless, it is important to develop an awareness for the wishes of the community and to respond to feedback. This would make fans feel not only heard, but also valued.

Focus on realism and personalization

Another point deals with personalization. No matter if it’s players, teams, stadiums or jerseys – the possibilities to add more individuality to the game are manifold. A feature that fans would like to see for years anyway. ChatGPT doesn’t stop there, however, but additionally addresses the issue of authenticity. For example, more believable crowd reactions, familiar fan chants or dynamic stadium lighting would also have a positive impact on the experience.

For the artificial addition, however, the theme of realism includes other suggestions, because it could also improve the quality of gameplay. Improved player animations, revised ball physics, as well as collision detection and advances in AI behavior would make FIFA 23 more dynamic and responsive, which in sum would make the game even more strategic and challenging, thus taking it to a new level.
