The FUT Preseason brings exclusive playable content for this year’s FIFA 22 Ultimate Team. Rental icons and packs can be well worth it.
FIFA 21 is in its final breaths. Instead of focusing on new content for the game now, EA has ushered in the annual preseason, which we’ve already been able to experience since FIFA 20. Basically it’s about collecting certain content for the upcoming FIFA part through SBCs and completed tasks.
This year’s preseason content includes:
- FUT 22 Coin Boost (5 games x 1,000 coins) x2
- FUT 22-Daily Warmup SBCs will be provided -Complete 5 in a row to receive the FUT 22-Coin Boost group bonus for each task
- FUT 22 Quick Start Pack:
- 5 Chemistry Styles (1 Shadow/Hunter guaranteed)
- 5 rare gold player contracts
- 1 FUT 21 jersey choice (Choose from El Chavo, Venice Beach FC, Alive & Kicking, FUT Future Stars jerseys)
- Gold Player Pack
- FUT 22-“A league of its own”-Pack:
- 3-Gold League Player Pack (1 rare)
- 3-Gold LaLiga Player Pack (1 rare)
- 3-Gold Ligue 1 Player Pack (1 rare)
- 3-Gold Premier League Player Pack (1 rare)
- 3-Gold Series A Player Pack (1 rare)
Among the listed bonuses, the “A League of its Own” pack is especially interesting. Of course, the chance to directly draw a star player for the FUT 22 career start is low, but it can help to avoid the sometimes horrendous prices of the transfer market at the beginning of the game.

The old familiar extra coins and jersey choice items are nice, but can at most help with the initial team building tasks. In the long run, no value can be expected from these rewards.

In addition to renting an icon card, you can also grab what’s called a Positional Players Pack. This should contain an attacker, midfielder, or defender with a rating above 80. This reward in particular is desirable for the beginning.
Icons as loan cards are not revolutionary, but can play a key role as wild cards especially in your first FUT Champions Playoffs – even though this will only be the basic version of the card.
The Preseason Promo is due to run later this week and will ultimately herald the end of the life cycle for this year’s FUT mode. Complete the tasks and SBC’s and you should have at least a small lead over your competitors once FIFA 22 goes live on October 1.
