Once Human was released in early July 2024 and is currently in its second season. The developers are now responding to criticism
The survival shooterOnce Human was released in early July 2024.And in its first week, the game set its player record to date – more than 230,000 players were online at the same time.
The more than 84,000 reviews on Steam for the free-to-play title are also largely positive.However, developer Starry Studio wants to take a new direction with the shooter.Because some fan comments seem to have put the developers on edge.
Feedback concerns two areas
The comments probably refer to parts of the second season, which the shooter is currently in.The development studio published a statement on Discord (via eurogamer.net), which says, among other things:
Since the launch of Season 2, we’ve received a lot of feedback. Some of it has been pretty demoralizing, but the most important thing is that it’s told us how the changes we’ve made have impacted your experience.
According to the developer, the feedback mainly relates to two points: Weapon builds and playable scenarios.The developers want to make changes in both areas in the future. For weapons, for example, a new feature is to be introduced that will allow players to take weapon builds into the next season.
When it comes to scenarios, the developers want to gather even more feedback from players in the form of small surveys. However, the developers’ statement shows, at least on this point, that opinions on what constitutes a “good” scenario vary widely, even among players.
In addition, it has not yet been revealedwhat the developers mean by “demoralizing”.No specific examples of such criticism have been given.
