Call of Duty Warzone remains on the existing engine when Black Ops Cold War appears. The multiplayer Warzone will be merged with Cold War in December.

Battles in Call of Duty: Warzone will continue even after the new title Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is released on November 13. However, hopes for a new engine for Warzone have been dashed. The Activision designer “ShutterMunster” made this clear last Friday in the forum “ResetEra”.

Previously there were rumors that Warzone could be ported to the engine of Black Ops Cold War. But there is a big obstacle, because the titles are developed by different studios. Warzone is from Infinity Ward and Cold War is from Treyarch. Therefore an engine change would probably be very expensive.

Activision announced that Cold War content will be implemented in Warzone in December. At that time, the first season of Black Ops Cold War will begin. Players will be able to select weapons and characters for the new title in Warzone.

Players in Warzone will decide which version of the game they want to play before rounds begin. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be released on November 13th with a new campaign and its own multiplayer.
