Two new operators in Vanguard – name causes discussion

Call of Duty: Vanguard gets two new operators. The already known characters will be joined by a female fighter and a sniper.

Sony unveiled two new operators for the new Call of Duty: Vanguard via its console PlayStation’s Twitter account on Monday. Two already known characters have also received a detailed new video. The name of the Japanese-American sniper Daniel Take Yatsu is currently causing discussion.

Padmavati Balan is an Indian nurse and one of the new operators in Vanguard. In the (PlayStation-Blog) her character is classified between a fighter and a peaceful civilian who can fight in the Jungle but also show courage and leadership in the hospital.

The second operator is the Japanese-American sniper Daniel Take Yatsu, who is introduced into the game as a protector of his comrades. During World War II, his family is sent to a US Concentration Camp and he is drafted into the US Army.

The name of the sniper is causing discussion on Twitter, as “Daniel Take Yatsu” translates to several meanings in Japanese. According to user Genki Gamer, the name is not common in Japan and could be translated as “bamboo man”. The two well-known operators Arthur Kingsley and Polina Petrova have also received new, detailed character videos in the course of the presentation of the two new characters.
