Some skins for Battlefield 6 can only be unlocked if you play through the Battle Pass from the previous game. Here’s the fastest way to do it.

There’s a reason to fire up Battlefield 2042 again: the new Free Pass includes rewards for Battlefield 6, such as exclusive specialist skins. We have a few tips to help you unlock everything as quickly as possible.

How does this Battle Pass work? You’ll automatically receive the free version when you have an account and start Battlefield 2042. You’ll gradually unlock rewards with the XP you collect, just like in the classic version.

There are 60 ranks, each of which requires 10 points. If we’ve entered that correctly into the calculator, that makes a total of 600 points.

And what’s it all for? Here are the BF6 rewards in the Free Pass:

Tip 1: Weekly missions in Portal

The Battle Pass runs for seven weeks (until October 7, 2025), and the tasks change every week. If you complete them all, you can earn a maximum of 55 points per week.
The weekly missions alone will earn you 385 of the 600 points you need.
Make sure you complete the bonus mission every week! It’s worth 10 Battle Pass points, so it would be a shame to miss out. You can complete the other missions later in the seven-week period.

If you don’t feel like or don’t have time to complete these challenges in normal multiplayer, you can also do them in Portal against bots, but not on every server.

YouTuber TheCadWoman has the match codes you need to host suitable servers yourself (at 2:25):

In the video, she also explains step by step how to create your own portal experiences so that you can be sure to collect XP.

However, you will gain more experience in real matches against other players.

Tip 2: Drone flight as XP farming

Another method of gaining experience is boring, but simple and reliable. Start a Breakthrough match (against real players), select Caspar as your character, and crouch down in the left area of the map. Then launch your drone and scan for enemies.

This will earn you XP without having to fight at all. It’s even faster if you join the round as Falck after completing the Scout Ribbons and act as a supporter for your team. Healing people, repairing vehicles, all of that will earn you experience and ribbon progress. And right now, there are a lot of players with the same goals, so it should be fairly stress-free.
At the end of the match, you’ll see how many Battle Pass points your accumulated experience is worth. The conversion from XP to Battle Pass points is not linear: the first points cost very little, but then you have to collect much more experience in increments of ten to progress in the pass.

However, this is your only way to earn more Battle Pass points once you’ve completed the weekly missions. So it makes sense to think about how you can get the most experience out of each match. BF6 will be released on October 10, 2025, for PC and consoles. It is intended to finally restore the beleaguered series to its former strength and hold its own against its eternal rival, Call of Duty. You can read more in the linked articles.

Will you play Battlefield 2042 again for the rewards? Or has the shooter lost you so much that you’re happy to do without skins for Battlefield 6?
