With the next chapter of Season 1, Battlefield 6 is not only getting new content, but also a major update with countless bug fixes and improvements.
On November 18, Battlefield 6 will get a new map, two weapons, and other content with the second chapter of Season 1. Even before these go live, however, an update has already been released on Steam, which is about 14 gigabytes in size. It contains a lot of bug fixes and adjustments, including for the much-criticized weapon spread.
What’s in Update 1.1.2.0?
On page two of the article, we have the complete patch notes for you, but you can find the most important new features right here in the overview:
- Weapon accuracy and spread: The spread of all weapons has been reduced. In addition, bugs that caused the spread to increase too quickly have been fixed.
- Weapon Balance: The recoil of DMRs has been reduced to make them more reliable at long ranges.
- Challenges: Further improvements to the descriptions and tracking of challenges.
- Gadgets: Many bug fixes and improvements for various gadgets. Among other things, vehicles can no longer be pushed with the reconnaissance drone.
- Aim Assist and Controller Controls: Aim Assist has been reset to the values from the Open Beta. There are also many improvements to the controller controls.
- Portal: New areas of Fort Lyndon are available in Portal.
Weapon spread has been a hot topic of discussion in the community since the game’s release. Bug fixes have already been integrated in previous updates, but now, for the first time, there is a general weakening of the effect. The new Portal maps from Fort Lyndon could, like other areas before them, end up in the multiplayer server browser thanks to fans.
What’s next for Season 1?
On November 18, expectedly at 4 p.m., the second chapter of Season 1 will go live. It will bring the new Eastwood map, which you can see some gameplay of above. In addition, another section will be added to the Battle Pass, which will unlock two new weapons: the DB-12 shotgun and the M357 Trait revolver. The complete overview of the new content can be found here!
After the first map of Season 1 disappointed many players, Eastwood now has the chance to win back fans. However, even the new map is unlikely to change the fact that the map design and size in Battlefield 6 have attracted a lot of criticism. In the meantime, even the developers have announced that they are at least considering changes; you can read more about this above.
