In Portal, players can create their own Battlefield experiences, but do they also earn experience points for doing so?
Battlefield 6 will be released in a few days, featuring single-player, multiplayer, and a new version of Battlefield Portal. This tool allows players to create their own gaming experiences and, this time around, even modify the maps to a limited extent.
Portal is basically a limited modding tool. Find out what you can do with it here:
But what about XP?
To level up and unlock new weapons and equipment, you will of course also collect experience points in Battlefield 6 with each match.
Experience points are also available in Portal, but the developers have come up with something to prevent this from degenerating into simple XP farming.
There will be two types of experiences in Portal. First, there are the verified community creations. These are very similar to the classic Battlefield modes and give the same amount of XP as in multiplayer.
Secondly, there are the experimental creations, which offer a completely different gaming experience to multiplayer. When asked, DICE told us that it all depends on the amount of time a player spends playing the creation.
According to the developers, someone who spends an hour as an “invincible solo soldier against 50 bots” will receive just as many XP as someone who spends an hour playing a “walking simulator.”
But: The experience points you earn in experimental creations cannot compete with verified ones, and therefore also not with normal multiplayer modes. So simply farming against bots is not possible.
Playing portal game experiences in Battlefield 6 is rewarded with experience points, and with verified creations, you even get as many as in multiplayer. However, in experimental creations, neither kills nor points are relevant; you get XP based on playing time and less than in the other modes.
