Dragon’s Dogma 2 gets a new endgame area with Dark Arisen, but you can’t just walk right in. We’ll show you how to start the new quest line and get to Norgan.
With Dark Arisen, Dragon’s Dogma 2 takes us to the inhospitable, snowstorm-ravaged region of Norgan. Once a prosperous part of the kingdom, Norgan is now cut off from the rest of the world and, as a result, difficult to reach. For us as Awakened, however, the path is fairly simple: We’ll show you how to start the DLC.
Starting Dark Arisen: What You Need to Know
To get started with Dark Arisen, you’ll need to visit the town of Vernworth and meet Captain Brant there. If you haven’t met him yet, just follow the main story a bit further. Otherwise, simply head to the Vernworth tavern at night, where you’ll find Brant waiting alone at a bar table.
With Brant, you start the DLC by selecting the dialogue option “About the New Awakened”; choosing “About the Discovered Ruins,” on the other hand, takes you to the new dungeons. After talking to Brant, you can optionally speak with a scholar, but that won’t give you much more than a few details about the history of Norgan.

If you want to get started right away, you’ll need to head tothe city’s northeastern gate and listen to the soldier at the North Cart Station. You’ll then receive a new quest marker, and you can travel by oxcart to a location near it (with a stop at the Treetop Bridge). Run to the quest marker, have a brief conversation, and you’ll be on your way to Norgan
If you’re currently in the Unmoored World, you won’t be able to access the DLC from there and will need to start a New Game Plus instead. To do this, select the Restart Game with Current Level and Equipment
option in the save slot menu.
But be careful: There’s a good reason why it’s recommended to start Dark Arisen at Level 40. While you can start earlier, getting into the DLC will be very difficult. That said, the DLC quests and enemies grant so many experience points that you’ll reach the appropriate level relatively quickly. First and foremost, though, you’ll need to grab new gear—that’s what helps the most in combat.
