The tactical shooter *Bodycam* borrows a feature from the *Metro* series, creating even more realism than before.

When the tactical shooter Bodycam was first unveiled in 2023, the gameplay looked so photorealistic that some users mistook it for actual video footage. Not only the graphics, but also the lighting and sound design remain breathtaking to this day. Combined with the deadly firefights, this has led to the description uncomfortably realisticgaining traction online.

But that’s not enough for the developers at Reissad Studio, and they’re turning the realism dial up once again with the free updateLocked and Loaded.

When is Locked and Loaded coming out?The update is coming out onSeptember 2, September 2026.

UI like in Metro

New UI: With the next update, the menus will no longer take up the entire screen. Instead, there’s the Tactical Tablet. A small in-game screen that you hold in your hand. At the edge of your actual screen, you’ll still be able to see where you are and what’s happening around you while you navigate through the submenus. Of course, the game won’t pause during this, so you’ll be easy prey for enemies.

You’ll recognize these menus from theMetro series, where they’re also used to enhance immersion in the unforgiving, post-apocalyptic world. You can get a glimpse of this new feature in the following YouTube video, for example at the 00:30 mark.

That will change

New Customization System: Bodycam is getting a new system that lets you customize your loadouts and weapons. Over 100 attachments will be available for this.

Revamped Sound Design: Reissad Studio has revamped the entire sound technology. This is intended to provide more realistic, spatial sounds for weapons and environments.

New Map: Trenches is a new, wintry map full of trenches. It’s also intended to serve as a model for future environments, atmosphere, and level designs in Bodycam.

Animations: The procedurally generated reload animations have been overhauled and expanded, and now even reflect the characters’ stress levels (through trembling, etc.).

Additional Improvements: In addition to technical optimizations, you can expect quality-of-life adjustments based on community feedback.
