Release: When is Lords of the End Times coming out?
September 24, 2026, is the big day.
Price: How much does Lords of the End Times cost?
As has become standard for Total War: Warhammer DLCs, Lords of the End Times is also being released as a DLC bundle. So you can buy the entire package right away with a 15 percent discount, or you can spend less money by purchasing only the new commanders you actually want to play with. Here are the prices:
- Buy Nagash, Thanquol, Boris Wütterich, or the Glott Brothers individually:9 euros
- The complete End Times package:30 euros
By the way, thanks to a free update, commanders you don’t own will still appear in the game. You just won’t be able to control them yourself—though you can certainly battle against them. That’s why the Immortal Realms campaign won’t be empty, even if you only own one DLC.

Content: What Makes This DLC So Great
Four legendary commanders are joining the game with Lords of the End Times. Each comes with a large roster of units—some of which are new—as well as their own gameplay mechanics on the large campaign map. Nagash isn’t just a new commander for an existing race; he’s set to found his very own faction.
Nagash

On the campaign map
Nagash seeks to conquer the world and ascend to godhood. As the Lord of Necromancy, you must build black necropolises all over the world, transforming the land into an undead wasteland. Along the way, Nagash is searching for nine Mortarchs—undead commanders who will help him claim the Books of Nagash.
In Battle
Nagash himself will likely be extremely powerful and, with his magic, can single-handedly take on small armies. On top of that, he assembles his army from every undead unit available. He draws on soldiers from the ranks of the Tomb Kings, Vampire Lords, and the Vampire Coast. This makes him nearly as adaptable as the Chaos Daemons of Undivided Chaos.
Nagash also fields a total of two new legendary heroes, one new commander, one new hero, six new units, and three new mercenary regiments.
Thanquol

Fans of the rat-men have long been hoping for this mad Skaven. He is the Gray Prophet and is considered one of the most powerful Skaven in Warhammer.
On the campaign map
Thanquol is constantly carrying out his masterful plans. These involve hidden armies, covert operations, dark rituals, and targeted raids. However, unforeseen complications can arise at any moment, which Thanquol must overcome.
In battle
Thanquol is also a powerful wizard, but he can pack quite a punch even in the thick of battle. Once he unlocks the Thirteenth Spell, Thanquol can ride his brutal rat-ogre, Bonebreaker. As a Skaven, Thanquol naturally recruits rat units, but he can also call upon special units from other commanders.
In addition, Thanquol introduces a new legendary hero, a new commander, five new units, and three new mercenary regiments.
The rugged Boris Wüterich has been in the game for a long time, but until now could only become a playable character through an alliance. Now the Empire’s fan favorite gets his own faction: Middenland!
On the campaign map
As Boris, you’ll defeat enemies of the Empire (especially beastmen) to boost Middenland’s fervor. This will eventually allow Boris to build the Great Temple of Ulric and upgrade shrines. With the temple, Boris can perform winter rites that strengthen his army.
In Battle
Boris is actually a perfectly ordinary man and warrior. But he’s also incredibly tenacious! He fights relentlessly in close combat and can bolster his units on the battlefield through commands and his inspiring resolve. Boris leads the entire roster of Imperial units into battle.
Boris also has access to a new legendary hero, a new commander, a new hero, seven new units, and three new mercenary regiments.
The Glott Brothers

The Glott Brothers are three Chaos Heroes who always appear together. They serve the Plague God Nurgle but are a new legendary commander for the Chaos Warriors faction.
On the campaign map
On the world map, the brothers spread Chaos corruption and are said to be able to harvest souls, for which they receive gifts from Nurgle. These gifts can be used to upgrade the faction, characters, or settlements. On top of that, the brothers create Gardens of Decay in conquered settlements. The gardens spread decay and grant access to Nurgle demons that other Chaos Warriors do not have.
In Battle
In battle, the triplets act as a single unit that, thanks to the brothers’ diverse strengths, leaves virtually nothing to be desired. Ethrac casts spells, Otto is a nimble melee fighter, and both ride on the back of the gigantic Ghurk. They command units of the Chaos Warriors and Nurgle.
With the Glott Brothers, four legendary heroes, five units, and three mercenary regiments are being introduced to the game entirely anew.
Not Really the End
Even though Lords of the End Times and the corresponding update essentially bring the apocalypse to the game, Warhammer 3 isn’t over yet, according to Creative Assembly. More updates—and likely DLCs as well—are planned. However, it remains to be seen whether they’ll match the scope of what “Lords of the End Times” delivers. Especially since 2027 will most likely see the launch of the next chapter in the Total War series with Warhammer 40k.
