Physical copies of the remaster are already out in the wild. Two videos now show in detail how the RPG runs in docked and handheld modes.

In just a few days, The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered will be released for the Nintendo Switch 2—not only digitally, but also in physical form. The first copies are apparently already in circulation.

This gives us new gameplay footage of the port to the Nintendo console ahead of the official release. You can watch a total of about ten minutes of footage across two videos.

Resolution, Frame Rate, and Gameplay Videos

One of them shows the game in docked mode, where the resolution is 1080p, while in handheld mode it runs at 900p—in both cases, DLSS is expected to help. Furthermore, the goal is to achieve a frame rate of 30 frames per second on the Switch 2.

Game World, Unreal Engine 5, and Character Creation

Oblivion Remastered takes you to the world of Tamriel, where you’ll battle across the planes of the Realm of Oblivion. It’s a remaster of the original game released in 2006, built on Unreal Engine 5.

You can customize your character in various ways—from a noble warrior to a sinister assassin, a wrinkled wizard, or a brawly blacksmith, the possibilities are endless. This applies equally to combat, where you can rely on swords or magic, for example, to stop the Daedra invasion of Tamriel.

Included DLC Content and Official Release Date

In addition to the base game, Oblivion Remastered includes the two story expansions “Shivering Isles” and “Knights of the Nine,” as well as various downloadable content: Fighter’s Stronghold, Spell Tomes, Vile Lair, Mehrune’s Razor, The Thieves’ Den, Wizard’s Tower, Orrery, and Horse Armor Pack.

The Switch 2 version is officially set to be released on August 11, 2026.
