Hunt: Showdown shows off a lot of mystery with a new trailer for the upcoming event “Light the Shadow”. The event runs from 25 August to 22 September 2021, and what it’s about this time around remains largely open. Light the Shadow apparently revolves around the night variants of the maps, and glowing orbs and a strange totem also seem to play an important role. Perhaps most importantly, a new weapon, the bow and arrow, appears to be coming into play.
The trailer has the usual high production quality and even reaches new cinematic heights. Tranquil camera movements are accompanied by surprising transitions and the skilful play with light and shadow. However, the trailer does not show (pure) game graphics, as the character animations in the video, for example, are much smoother.
By the way, the animations are our only remaining major criticism of Hunt: Showdown. How confidently the hardcore shooter delivers in 2021.
