In Crimson Desert, players must complete a wide variety of challenges to unlock additional skill points. For one of these, a player goes to extraordinary lengths.
As a Kliff in Crimson Desert, we’re up against the hostile Black Bear tribe, and they’re already nasty enough. But during a walk in the woods, we can also end up fighting real bears. Especially for less experienced Kliffs, though, they’re damn dangerous.
On top of that, there’s an Abyss challenge where we’re supposed to defeat a bear using—of all things—a broom. The reward is just a single artifact. Nobody would do something that crazy, right? OR WOULD THEY?
Or do they?
Let’s be honest: there will always be players who can tackle even the most absurd and seemingly impossible challenges in games. And in Crimson Desert, one of them isn’t holding back:
Grix1s had the broom thoroughly upgraded at the blacksmith: He used a massive amount of resources to make the broom as strong as possible. To do so, he had to acquire 6 Abyss artifacts, plenty of ore, and some rare resources. Grix1s is now not only ready to take on the bear –Where is this bear? I’m going to beat him up
– he’s apparently already completed his mission:
[The broom] literally sweeps the enemies of the Graymane away. Including the bears. ESPECIALLY the bears.
Well, of course we have to verify this claim first. So we upgraded our broom (only to level 6) and went into battle against a bear. And lo and behold, the bear had to bow down to us (though that’s probably more because our Cliff is already pretty high-leveled)!
The duel between the broom and the bear is naturally sparking some ideas among people. As crypticalcat writes: It just dawned on me that there will definitely be videos soon of someone defeating the game’s final boss with a broom or a shovel. Of course, you can take this even further. Why not play through the entire story using only a broom? Or a rake? I’m sure there’s a volunteer out there for this task.
Players have already achieved some impressive—and alarming—feats. For example, one dedicated fan has already unlocked all the game’s achievements, spending over 300 hours in Crimson Desert to do so. Others, on the other hand, are getting creative, setting nasty traps for unsuspecting NPCs using a delicious meal and a tree trunk.
