Eager loot collectors will be especially happy about update 1.0.5, as your stash is getting a major improvement.

Bungie’s extraction shooter Marathon is entering its second week and already has a patch up its sleeve for the second time, which brings a few important improvements and has been well received by the community. Update 1.0.5 will significantly reduce the load on your inventory. There are also performance improvements for high-end PCs.

More space in the Vault

There won’t be a fundamental increase in the size of the Vault, but the stacks for items that you often collect in large numbers anyway will be enlarged.

This means that the many small stacks will no longer clog up the storage area. The developers already showed an example of the new stack sizes on X:

The changes affect the following items: Consumables, ammunition, parts and grenades. There will also be a new filter setting for keys and backpacks.

Important: The increase in stack sizes affects the Vault, not the players’ backpacks. So you don’t have to worry about fighting against teams with 50 shield charges.

Better PC performance

In a preview of the patch on the official Steam page there are also some statements about planned performance improvements. Bungie is initially prioritizing weaker and mid-range hardware for optimization.

In the short term, a guide is planned to help players get the best possible gaming experience from their configuration. In the long term, however, high-end PCs should also be able to deliver better performance. Bungie has not yet revealed what is specifically planned there.

Players excited about Vault improvements

Many players are very happy with the planned changes under the X post. Here are a few examples:

“Thank you, you guys are the best.” – Alli_Axel

“These quick changes are great and gratefully received.” – Kelski

“More space in the Vault? That’s a great change I’m looking forward to, and the patch is coming so fast.“ – PureChiLL

“Hang in there guys, you’re doing a great job. You’ve undoubtedly got a treasure in your hands.“ – J0hn basil0ne

At the moment there are no official patch notes and it is also not yet known exactly when the update will go live. Incidentally, one change made last week will be reversed with the patch. The distance at which the proximity chat can be heard is to be reduced again. The last increase was probably a little excessive, according to player feedback.
