Epic is once again adding two new free games to its in-house store. With one of them, you can shoot back in the 1920s… but not at Epic, rather at other players.
Free Thursday is back! At least for Epic users, this day of the week is a celebration for bargain hunters, because once again, the Epic Games Store is giving away two games. This time, there’s an authentic World War II shooter and a cute life simulation game with adorable ghosts.
The promotion doesn’t start at 5 p.m. as usual, but an hour earlier due to the time change in the U.S. You’ll have exactly one week to claim the free game. The next batch will be available on March 19 at 4 p.m.!

Isonzo
During World War I, fierce battles were fought in northern Italy, shaped by the peaks and valleys of the Alps. This is where Isonzo is set. The authentic PvP shooter takes on large-scale battles in which you storm fortresses, traverse destroyed cities, and seek cover behind rocks.
Choose from six classes and over 50 weapons and compete against each other on 14 maps. A match can include up to 48 players. If you already have experience with authentic historical shooters, you may be familiar with the developer BlackMill Games. The creators have also released Tannenberg and Verdun.
Cozy Grove
The title already sets the mood: despite the ghosts, Cozy Grove is a relaxed place. As a ghost finder on a haunted island, you have a lot to do. You don’t hunt supernatural beings, you make friends with them!
When you’re not floating around with ghosts, you decorate your cottage and surroundings, go fishing, plant trees, and do all the other classic life sim tasks. Of course, you can enjoy the beautifully hand-drawn style of Cozy Grove throughout.
Incidentally, Isonzo won’t be the last WW1 shooter from BlackMill Games; a fourth project of this kind has already been announced. You can find out more in the article linked above. But first, feel free to write in the comments what you think of this week’s free games! Does the harsh Isonzo appeal to you, did you fall in love with the style of Cozy Grove, or is there nothing for you this week?
