One of the biggest wishes players had for the release of Battlefield Redsec was the ability to play Battle Royale without a squad. This weekend, there will be a first test.

Battlefield 6 has had its own free Battle Royale mode for several months now. However, Redsec is not nearly as popular as the developers probably hoped it would be. One of the most important requests from players is set to be fulfilled soon: Dice has already announced that it will release a solo mode, which is now heading for release.

Free trial for everyone

In a new blog post, the developers of Battlefield 6 talk about the initial feedback on Season 2, as well as their plans for the future. This includes the option to compete against other lone fighters in Battle Royale instead of fighting in squads.

A test is scheduled for the weekend: From March 6 to 9, all players will be able to try out the new mode, which will apparently be available directly from the main menu.

This is only a test version, so a lot can still change before the final release. The following rules apply to solo mode so far:

  • There are no squad revives or respawn stations. However, second chances remain enabled.
  • Missions are adapted to single players, as are the rewards.
  • Class training paths have been adjusted so that you earn an appropriate amount of experience in solo mode.
  • Vehicles, including tanks, remain enabled. However, the developers want to closely monitor whether balancing changes are necessary.

It is currently unknown when solo mode will be permanently available in Battlefield Redsec. The new game mode for Battle Royale is not yet mentioned in the Season 2 roadmap, so it can be assumed that it will appear in Season 3 at the earliest. We will, of course, keep you up to date on all announcements and updates. You can also read more news about Battlefield 6 above.
