Live-action adaptations of manga and anime usually make people nervous at first. However, the first season of Netflix’s One Piece dispelled all doubts and thrilled not only long-time fans but also newcomers. Finally, we get to find out how the search for the world’s greatest pirate treasure continues.

Here’s all the important info about the new season of One Piece at a glance:

  • Release: When does season 2 start?
  • Episodes: How many new episodes are there in season 2?
  • Story: What happens in season 2?
  • Cast: Who is in season 2?

Update from March 3, 2026: We have the latest trailer for Season 2 for you! In addition, all points have been checked again to ensure they are up to date.

Release: When does Season 2 of One Piece start?

It’s finally official: the Straw Hat Pirates will set sail again for season 2 on March 10, 2026. That’s still a while away, but you’ll be able to watch all the new episodes in one go, as Netflix will be releasing the entire season at once.

Episodes: How many new episodes will there be in season 2 of One Piece?

The number and (English) names of the episodes are now known. The titles already reveal that the big Alabasta Arc is being prepared for the third season. You can look forward to a total of eight new episodes:

  • Episode 1: The Beginning of the End
  • Episode 2: Good Whale Hunting
  • Episode 3: Whiskey Business
  • Episode 4: Big Trouble in Little Garden
  • Episode 5: Wax on, Wax Off
  • Episode 6:

    Nami Deerest

  • Episode 7: Reindeer Shames
  • Episode 8: Deer and Loathing in Drum Kingdom

Story: These arcs can be expected in Season 2

Season 1 mainly covered the East Blue Saga, in which Luffy recruits most of his pirate crew. The season culminated in Arlong Park, where Nami’s backstory was revealed to us. Attentive One Piece fans immediately noticed that the East Blue Saga is not yet complete. This is where Season 2 picks up.

Spoiler alert! One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda shared on X/Twitter which islands will be visited in Season 2 (and which will not):

  • Loguetown
  • Reverse Mountain
  • Whiskey Peak
  • Little Garden
  • Drum Island

Loguetown: In season 2, our Straw Hat crew finds themselves in the last town before the Grand Line. But this is not just any town—it is the birthplace and execution site of the Pirate King Gol D. Roger, whom we know from both the legendary anime intro and the prologue of the Netflix series.

Whiskey Peak: In the only town on Cactus Island, our heroes experience a thrilling adventure that brings them into contact with the Baroque Works for the first time. This is also where the Alabasta Saga is set in motion.

Little Garden: This island is a paradise for dinosaur fans, as it is inhabited by giant creatures. These include the giants Boogey and Woogey. You can get a first glimpse of them in the newly released posters:

Drum Island: Last but not least, the crew arrives on Drum Island. There, fan favorite Tony Tony Chopper is introduced, who lives on the island with his mentor Dr. Kureha. Luffy’s brother Monkey D. Ace will also make his first appearance here.

Netflix has already given us our first glimpse of Drum Island!

As you’ve probably noticed, we’ll have to wait a little longer for the Alabasta arc. The stories surrounding the Straw Hat Pirates are simply too diverse to cover everything in just a few episodes. But a third season was already announced at the end of the first trailer. Presumably, it will also take us to Alabasta.

Cast: Who will be in the cast of season 2?

Of course, our favorite pirates will remain, and we will see a number of actors and actresses from season 1 again. However, Netflix has also announced a lot of new additions for the sequel.

The Straw Hat Crew

  • Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy
  • Emily Rudd as Nami
  • Mackenyu as Lorenor Zorro
  • Jacob Romero as Lysop
  • Taz Skylar as Sanji
  • Mikaela Hoover (English) and Martin Halm (German) as the voice of Tony Tony Chopper

Fan favorite Tony Tony Chopper finally joins the crew in season 2. The little reindeer joins the crew as the ship’s doctor and is rendered entirely in CGI in the series:

Old Friends

  • Morgan Davies as Koby
  • Jeff Ward as Buggy the Clown
  • Ilia Isorelýs Paulino as Alvida

New Enemies and Allies

The casting of Dr. Kureha caused quite a stir. The role ultimately went to Peggy Bundy actress Katey Sagal!

  • Lera Abova as Miss All Sunday / Nico Robin
