What a shame for the Empire! The new voice DLC for Space Marine 2 is falling flat with fans.

Actually, everything had been going according to plan for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 in recent weeks. Many fans were thrilled by the release of the new Techmarine class, which, with its massive hammer and automated turrets, ensures… well, order.

But these days, the half-dead, decaying Emperor looks down from his golden throne with a frown, because a new DLC is causing a lot of bad vibes in the community.

What is being sold as a cool extra for customizing your Space Marines is turning out to be a massive disappointment for many buyers. It’s the new voice pack, which was supposed to bring fresh lines into the game for just under five euros – but the implementation leaves a lot to be desired.

450 lines? Maybe including grunts …

On paper, the offer sounded fair: around 450 new lines of dialogue and three new heads for your warriors. But if you take a look at the Steam reviews, you’ll quickly realize that this was a complete failure. nbsp; One of the main points of criticism is the lack of consistency in the new voices.

Players report that the new voice lines don’t match the old ones. Imagine this: you’re on a mission, your character yells something or reacts to a mission objective—but because the new voices don’t cover every situation, the game often suddenly reverts to the default voice for that class.

As you can imagine, this not only destroys the immersion, but also simply looks unfinished.

Another point of criticism is the scope: Many are wondering how the advertised 450 new lines are supposed to come about. Fans suspect that every little grunt, moan, and variation in the seven languages included has been counted in order to artificially inflate the number.

The disappointment runs deep, especially because Saber Interactive has had a very good reputation among fans so far. A Reddit thread in which a user showed their refund of the DLC quickly garnered thousands of upvotes.& nbsp;PrincessKnightAmber sums up the mood:

“Just shabby of Saber.”

A small stain on a clean slate

Until now, the post-launch support for Space Marine 2 has been almost exemplary. Free updates such as the aforementioned Techmarine class or new missions have been very well received so far – but now comes this five-euro slip-up.

For now, you should save your money, as the DLC has only 16 percent positive reviews on Steam. But maybe the developers will take the feedback seriously and make some improvements. After all, Space Marine 2 really doesn’t need such negative headlines.
