A viral trick is currently allowing people to show on their PSN account that they are already playing Grand Theft Auto 6. Of course, this is nonsense.
No, you haven’t missed the release of GTA 6. Even if you might think so when you look at the PlayStation Network, because people are supposedly already playing it there. Did Rockstar employees not pay attention to their profile settings? Or did the servers go live too early? No, the explanation is much less spectacular.
No sign of it on PSN
The ID numbers under which GTA 6 will appear in the PlayStation Store have already been determined and were leaked over the weekend by the PlayStation Game Size website. With the help of these numbers, you can add the game to your list of recently played games – without having started GTA 6 for a single second.
Apparently, some people find this funny enough to actually go to the trouble of doing it. This is what it looks like in their profiles:

Logically, there is no playing time because access is not yet possible, so “less than an hour” is automatically displayed. Why do people do this? This is also discussed in the comments on Reddit. There’s no point, except to post a screenshot on social media and possibly pretend you have early access, but… the glitch is well known. It will be some time before GTA 6 is actually released. Currently, November 19, 2026 is on the calendar – according to Rockstar, it will stay that way and there will be no further delays, but of course, it won’t be certain until we can start downloading. On PC, it will take an unknown amount of time longer before we can get started.
The link above will take you to what we already know about the upcoming mega blockbuster, which has been dominating the gaming year long before its release – mainly because other developers want to avoid the release period, as they expect GTA 6 to grab all the attention at first.
