If you want to pursue more everyday activities such as cooking or explore a new region of the Badlands, you should check out the new fan DLC.
APEX is the name of a new expansion for Cyberpunk 2077. It doesn’t come from developer CD Projekt Red, who have long been working on new games – including the sequel Orion. Hard-working fans have simply created another add-on themselves.
The mod adds a new area, a new quest series, and, as a reward, a base that allows you to engage in many everyday interactions. This is a long-standing wish of many Cyberpunk fans: a more believable everyday life in the role-playing game.
New adventure in Sonora Canyon
Sonora Canyon is the new area that the mod adds to the game. It is part of the so-called Badlands, the desert areas surrounding Night City, and is located on their eastern edge.
The most exciting new feature in the add-on is a safe house that you can unlock there. First, you complete a new quest, and at a certain point, you can settle in. Among other things, the base offers a garage with space for several vehicles and its own shooting range, where you can also display your weapons. And shoot, of course.
If you have installed another mod for flying vehicles, you can even land them on the roof. But be careful, the new weather event brings a powerful sandstorm, so always fly carefully.
Cool for anyone who wants more everyday life: At the base, you can pursue activities that are not available or only available to a limited extent in the base game, such as cooking or watching movies while V lies comfortably in bed. New lore is contained in data shards, and everything is designed to fit seamlessly into the established universe.
You can find APEX – Sonora Canyon & Safehouse at nexusmods for free download. A German translation of the mod is also already available there.
What are the requirements for the mod? You need Cyberpunk 2077 and the official Phantom Liberty expansion. To get started, the corresponding quest must begin. You can start it after you have met Takemura at Tom’s Diner as part of the main story. Then you wait 48 in-game hours.
If you add the mod to a save game where you are already past this point, the quest should appear after 24 hours at the latest.
