Are you up for another adventure with V? Then you should try out the recently updated Fresh Start Mod!
Have you heard of the Fresh Start Mod for Cyberpunk 2077? The fan modification was released in December 2024 on Nexusmods , it has since been downloaded almost 300,000 times and was updated a few days ago.
This update is reason enough for us to tell you about the Fresh Start Mod. Thanks to the update on December 28, 2025, the unofficial addition feels almost as if it has always been part of the role-playing masterpiece.
DeceptiousPhil, the creator of the mod, has proudly announced that his creation now fits seamlessly into the character creation design without feeling like a foreign element. See for yourself:

Nomad or Corpo? Who said anything about or

At the start of your dystopian adventure, you have to choose a biographical background for your character V. The standard options are the rough street kid, the hardened nomad, and the company-loyal corpo.
This choice has a major impact on the intro and many of the game’s dialogues, which is why the different life paths have prompted many fans to play through Cyberpunk multiple times. This is where the Fresh Start Mod comes in, as it offers a new, fourth life path: a mix of Corpo and Nomad.
In this case, V was once a successful Corpo in Night City before deciding to live as a Nomad outside the metropolis and eventually losing himself somewhere between these two worlds. In search of self-discovery, he returns to Night City. The new life path offers its own quests that introduce you to the role-playing game in a whole new way.
Fans are excited, but you should be careful
The mod has received a lot of praise in the comments on Nexusmods. Many fans of the game are using V’s new biography as an opportunity to start the next of many playthroughs. The well-thought-out integration of the new episode into the main storyline is particularly impressive.
However, there is also a potential spoiler that we would like to point out to you in conclusion: Apparently, the Fresh Start Mod often causes conflicts with other modifications.
If you are only interested in the new life path and do not use any other mods, you do not need to worry. Everyone else, however, should proceed with caution to avoid any trouble. As always, the following applies: All work on your system is done at your own risk!
Although the development of Cyberpunk 2 is in full swing, it will probably be several years before we can experience the next chapter of this fascinating world. So you have plenty of time to travel to Night City once again thanks to the Fresh Start Mod.
