Just a few days after a major security incident, Rainbow Six Siege is once again experiencing problems. Players are reporting unauthorized account suspensions, while the game is also temporarily offline again.

New incident shortly after previous hack

On December 27, there was an attack on Rainbow Six Siege, during which large amounts of in-game currency, rare items, and weapon skins were distributed.

As a result, Ubisoft took the servers offline and reset the game score to a point before the incident. The game’s marketplace was also temporarily deactivated.

Now, about a week later, players are reporting another incident. This time, accounts are said to have been suspended without legitimate grounds.

Unusual bans reported

According to consistent reports, affected users received bans on the grounds of “harassment offense.” The duration of the bans is striking: 67 days.

The bans became public knowledge after the well-known streamer VarsityGaming was also affected by such a measure during a livestream.

No official statement

At the time of writing, Ubisoft has not publicly commented on the current incident. The game’s official social media channels were last updated on December 29. At that time, however, the company announced reduced wait times following the issues related to the previous rollback.

There is also no new information available yet on the status of the marketplace or the possible effects of the recent attack on player accounts.

Current server status

Rainbow Six Siege is currently unplayable again. According to the server overview, all game modes are listed as “Degraded” or “Outage.”
This latest outage is the latest in a series of technical problems that have been plaguing the game since the end of December.
In response to earlier inquiries, Ubisoft stated that the incidents were still being investigated and that updates would be posted on the official channels. No further statements on possible security breaches or affected user data have been released to date.

Impact on ongoing operations

The repeated outages are hitting Rainbow Six Siege at a time when the title was already struggling with the aftermath of the previous attack. However, no specific details have been provided yet regarding the financial or in-game consequences of the current incident.
