The biggest challenger to The Sims will be released on December 8, 2025, and now Paralives is unveiling its detailed roadmap for early access, which extends until 2027.
The small team of passionate life simulation fans who have been working on Paralives for six years promises that all future updates and expansions will be free. However, potential buyers should not expect hundreds of hours of content at launch.
Early Access will start with the core gameplay: you can manage the needs, life goals, and careers of your Paras (characters) and experience the basics of social life, such as friendship and love. The character editor is already very flexible, and the building mode offers a good selection.
However, the developers warn that the early access release on December 8 is only the foundation. Features such as pools, basements, flexible stair and roof tools, and social event organization are missing for now. Major life events such as birth, marriage, and death are also not yet highlighted. The goal is to add these missing features, as well as cars, pets, and more in-depth parenting gameplay, over the course of the two-year early access period.
Modders will be supported from the start and can add all kinds of custom content to the game via the Steam Workshop. The development team wants to closely involve the community in the design and plans to use the coming years to shape the game based on feedback.
