Since October 28, 2025, players have been able to play Visions of Eternity, the sixth expansion for Guild Wars 2.

You travel to a new and remote island called Castora. There you will find two explorable maps, a new elite specialization for each class, three new mastery paths, and, of course, new weapons, equipment, and recipes. The add-on also includes a graphical update for the shadows in the game world, as well as new options for character creation.

The launch trailer gives you a first impression of the new content and also tells you more about the story of the add-on.

On Steam, the new expansion costs $25. The previous five add-ons are not required to play, and the base game Guild Wars is free. In 2026, a new major update for Visions of Eternity is scheduled to be released quarterly, continuing the story and adding new content such as two new maps.
