The new set costs less than 30 euros. This is naturally causing a stir among fans of the iconic building blocks. What’s included?
Not only is the theme of the new LEGO set retro, but so is the price. The new DeLorean from the movie Back to the Future costs just 28 euros. Some comments on social media are already wondering whether a digit has been left out of the price – but no, that is actually the official price of the set.
Let’s take a look at what’s included.
The new LEGO DeLorean
The official name of this gem is “Time Machine from Back to the Future,” which will be sold under the serial number 77256 and will be available for delivery starting in January 2026. Here’s what it looks like:
It consists of 357 pieces, making it significantly simpler than the previous DeLorean (number 10300 for 200 euros). It is recommended for ages 9 and up, so it is very easy to assemble in one of two versions: normal and hovering. Of course, it only hovers when you hold it in your hand, but the tires are folded to the side—you get the idea.
The set is part of the Speed Champions series, a series of small movie vehicles, including the Bond car. Two minifigures are included with the DeLorean (Doc Brown and Marty McFly, of course), and the car model is 17 cm long, 10 cm high, and 7 cm wide. So it also fits on small shelves.
Fans are surprised
A look at the comments shows how many people now associate LEGO with inflated prices. The aptly named Twitter account Huh?
expresses it this way, for example: “Why can I afford this?”

LEGO’s pricing policy was also a topic of discussion in our editorial office recently, as our editor Peter Bathge was surprised to see that an excavator costs almost 400 euros!
