New week, new games! This time, Steam has a shooter highlight and lots of strategy in store for you. We present the most exciting releases.

Summer is coming to an end, but another hot week awaits on Steam: Six years after the third installment, the loot shooter king is celebrating its return, and it’s back to the loot shootout. But there’s much more to discover! As every Monday, we bring you an overview of the most exciting PC releases of the week.

Highlight of the week: Borderlands 4

Genre: Looter shooter – Developer: Gearbox Software – Release: September 11, 2025 (

Six years after the last installment, the hunt for loot and levels continues: Borderlands 4 sends you to the new planet Kairos, a desolate prison planet under the thumb of the sinister Timekeeper. The archvillain oppresses the population with his cyborg army – high time for a few exterminators (i.e. you) to put an end to the madness.

Kairos offers the largest game world in the series’ history: Four expansive regions can be explored seamlessly this time around. Gearbox promises a true open-world experience without loading screens for the first time, true to the motto: less borders, more land.

In terms of gameplay, Borderlands 4 aims to stick with what works while offering something new: You can once again choose from four eccentric hunters with different abilities. In co-op mode for up to four players, you’ll blast your way through hordes of enemies with millions of crazy weapon combinations.

New features include the Echo-4 companion drone, which supports you with hacks and scans, as well as a revamped progression system with elements borrowed from role-playing games, which is designed to allow even more build diversity.

Of course, the series’ signature humor is also present: series mascot Claptrap is back again – whether you like it or not is up to you. And as always, one-liners, pop culture references, and absurd side quests are guaranteed to be included.

      • Fata Deum – The God Sim (Early Access): The classic god game Black & White sends its regards – Fata Deum gives you divine power over a fantasy kingdom.
