Legacy of the Forge is the name of the next major add-on for the medieval role-playing game. It will be released in September 2025. What exactly is it about? Well, we’d like to know that too.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will get at least two more major add-ons – and the next one is coming out soon. Legacy of the Forge will hit stores (or your library if you own the corresponding game edition) on September 9, 2025.

A first teaser trailer at gamescom Opening Night Live 2025 not only revealed the release date, but also gave some initial hints about the story and content of the expansion. However, these were rather cryptic. Let’s take a look!

What do we know about the second DLC?

The add-on revolves around Heinrich’s blacksmithing skills – according to the description, we even get to set up shop in our own workshop. Many fans are hoping for an extensive housing system, which was already added to the previous game via DLC. And it’s actually coming! Using blueprints, we’ll set up the workshop and probably other rooms in the cottage in Kuttenberg. A real home for Heinrich.

The teaser itself shows short scenes from the town of Kuttenberg, in particular the astronomical clock. Does it play some kind of role? Or does it indicate that we’re going to experience a time jump? After all, Heinrich’s foster father and master blacksmith Martin also worked in Kuttenberg for a while…

The official description at least says that we’ll meet old friends of our dad who become Heinrich’s allies. So we’ll definitely learn more about Martin’s past.

The add-on will be released simultaneously for PC and consoles. You can buy it separately, get the triple pack of planned expansions right away, or get the expansion automatically upon release if you’ve purchased the Gold Edition of Kingdom Come 2.

The first DLC, Encounters with Death, was already much more extensive than we had expected. According to Warhorse, DLC 2 and 3 will be even bigger – so there should be many hours of gameplay in store.

We will of course put the add-on through its paces for you. And since we – like many of you – are eagerly awaiting more information, we will be taking a closer look at the DLC ourselves at gamescom. So you can expect more information soon! Let us know what interests you most, and we’ll do our best to answer your questions.
