Helldivers 2 gets a huge amount of content, but the Super Earth flag of all things can ruin everything in one fell swoop

A major update, new enemies and new weapons are a source of joy, but a fatal bug quickly spoils the fun.

Helldivers 2 once again goes on a new content offensive: With a powerful combo of balance updates, new enemy types and a bulging warbond, the Galactic War ignites into a new stage.

But there’s not just cause for celebration: a bug can spell disaster for any match – and by bug in this case, we don’t mean the alien bugs!

What is this bug?

The One True Flag of all things, the flag of Super Earth, is the cause of the bug. Because as soon as you ram the flag into the ground (or any other object), the game automatically crashes for all other players in the party, as you can see here:

It is therefore strongly discouraged to use the stratagem. Nevertheless, some trolls are of course already exploiting the bug and deliberately crashing the lobbies of their comrades-in-arms (which is of course absolutely undemocratic).

The only solution for the moment: Play private lobbies or kick fellow players who have the One True Flag in their luggage.

Luckily, the developers at Arrowhead are already aware of the bug and have announced via Discord that they are currently working on a solution.

Automaton big cities

For the first time, there are now missions in large cities with a bot presence. After fighting Illuminate and Terminiden between the gigantic urban canyons, there are now also battles against the Automatons in urban terrain.

New enemy types

  • War Strider: The Automatons’ new mech is significantly larger than the previous Scout Strider and is roughly comparable to the exo-battlesuits in the Helldivers’ arsenal.
  • Orb: This new defense construct of the Illuminate faction is often located near the parked spaceships and fires a devastating plasma beam.

New weapons & Stratagems

With the new Warbond Control Group on July 17 the Helldiver armory will also expand. The following is included:

  • Two new armor sets (Apollonian and Bleeding Edge)
  • VG-70 Variable (primary weapon, multiple barrels and 3 firing modes)
  • PLAS-45 Epoch (Stratagem, heavy plasma launcher)
  •  LIFT-182 Warp Pack (Stratagem, backpack with teleport capability)
  • A/LAS-98 (Stratagem, defense turret with laser gun)
  • G-31 ARC (grenade with arc lightning damage)

In addition, there is cosmetic content such as banners, capes and emotes as well as new titles for the player card.

Balance updates

More than a dozen weapons and stratagems, as well as enemies and armor values, have been reworked to create a fairer and more comprehensible balance. You can read the complete patch notes with all the changes in the developer’s announcement.

Highlights include a huge buff for the AR-32 Pacifier, increased damage for mounted Bayonets and the improved effect of several grenade types. In addition, flamethrower turrets are now fireproof and no longer self-destruct so easily.
