The recently announced Company of Heroes 3 features a big change for campaign players: The story missions of the predecessors will be replaced by a turn-based and dynamic strategy map that is somewhat reminiscent of the Total War series.
On the map you manage your armies, conquer territories and fight battles. The latter take place in real time, with you taking control. The developers reveal how complex and detailed the new campaign will be in the video. By the way, the scenes all come from a pre-alpha of the strategy game.
The reason for this is simple: Company of Heroes 3 is far from finished. According to the developers, the release is still over a year away. However, we have already been able to play Company of Heroes 3.
