Over several weeks, the Helldivers community fought what was perhaps its most important battle to date and emerged victorious. This even made it onto Chinese television news.
The Illuminate’s attack on Earth demanded everything from the Helldivers 2 community. Only through the cooperation of players from all over the world was the last line of defense held and democracy saved.

At least in Helldivers 2 – because in order to defeat their common enemy, players from all nations joined forces and fought to the bitter end and to victory.

According to a user’s translation, the presenters describe the course of the conflict. For example, the clip says:
Due to the time difference, the players divided the work between them. The Chinese players fought the enemies during the day with their excellent shooting skills and strategic plans. The American players took over the night operations and used air drops and firepower to build the defensive line for Shanghai.

Helldivers 2 has once again managed to inspire the community to write their own special stories. This time, they even made it into an official news broadcast. The fact that the last line of defense was the virtual counterpart to Shanghai probably played a big part in the story being picked up by a local TV station.
