The new trailer for the Painkiller reboot, fresh from the Future Games Show 2025, takes no prisoners. Demons are crawling out of hell by the millions – and you’re in the thick of the action, firing your over-powered weapons at anything that doesn’t jump for cover fast enough.
The clip serves up plenty of iconic Painkiller action, but also showcases the new co-op focus. Included: the legendary Stake Gun, a grappling hook for lightning-fast movement, and the obligatory oversized bosses that look like they’ve come straight from a metal album cover.
Visually, the whole thing is reminiscent of Doom and Witchfire – so if you like it dark, fast-paced and bloody, you should add it to your wish list. Painkiller is scheduled for release in fall 2025 for PC via Steam and consoles.
