The world after a catastrophe – often just a fictional scenario, but in Atomfall it becomes frighteningly tangible. The new survival adventure from Rebellion Developments takes players to a dark parallel version of England, which is quarantined after a nuclear incident. What exactly happened remains unclear for a long time. However, what is immediately apparent is that isolation has changed this world.

At first, everything seems chaotic, almost uncontrollable. Who you are, why you are here and what the goal of the journey should be remains unclear. The player is thrown into the middle of a zone characterized by mistrust and danger, without a clear thread. Clues hidden in the form of notes or secret documents are the only points of reference. Those who look carefully can slowly piece together the puzzle – or plunge straight into the heart of the mystery.

The quarantine zone: More than just a playground of danger

Various factions have formed within the zone, which has been sealed off for five years. Some fight for survival, others have come to terms with the chaos. Sect-like groups, mistrustful survivors and armed guards make it difficult to distinguish friend from foe. Even nature bears the scars of the catastrophe – mutated creatures, marked by radiation, lurk in the shadows, making every encounter unpredictable.
Gameplay rewards tactical action. Open confrontations can quickly end fatally, as ammunition is scarce and even simple firearms can malfunction. Instead, stealth offers an alternative – sneaking through tall grass, silently eliminating opponents or cleverly avoiding traps. Those who explore the environment can also find useful resources that can be used for improvised tools or healing agents. But dangers lurk here too: hidden traps, electric fences and unknown substances make every decision a potential risk.

The great unknown: Seek the truth at any cost

While the world of Atomfall raises many questions, it is up to the player to find the answers. The central threat – an ominous vortex that opens up on the horizon – seems to be the key. But the path to it is just as mysterious as the events that created this zone. What truth is hidden behind the quarantine walls? And what are the consequences of knowing it? The answers to these questions await those brave enough to unravel the mystery of Atomfall.
