VR instead of handheld: Leaks show what Valve is currently working on and reveal how much it will cost.

Leaks from an X-user show that Valve is currently working on a VR headset. It should be on the market by the end of this year. A price has also already been set.

What kind of headset is this?

The leaked images from the X-user Gabe Follower show a VR headset that will cost $1,200, or about €1,150.

Months earlier, there were already rumors of a controller for it, codenamed Roy. You can also see it in the post by Gabe Follower.

The Deckard VR headset is supposed to run a modified version of SteamOS that is optimized for VR experiences. Valve already released a VR headset in 2019 with the .

According to rumors, Valve has been working on a new VR gaming experience ever since. With the new Deckard, Valve does not want to compromise on hardware, as wwfctechreports.

This is already evident from the fact that, unlike the Index, the new headset is wireless. We don’t know any more yet, but we’ll keep our eyes open. Should the rumors intensify and more information follow, we will report on it.

Does the leak provide any information about a Steam Deck 2?

The current leak doesn’t shed any light on the Steam Deck question either. My colleague Linh has summarized all the information for you in this regard. There is no Steam Deck 2 in sight for the time being. Other consoles such as competitors for the PS5 and Xbox will not be available for the time being either.

Are you patiently waiting for a Steam Deck 2? Are you fans of virtual reality? Do you think a price of €1,200 for a game console is reasonable? Do you already have VR goggles? Are you satisfied with them? What features would you like to see that have been missing from all VR headsets so far? What do you think of such leaks? Are you getting more excited?
