Relic Entertainment comes up with Earth vs Mars and lets you fight bizarre battles with hybrid human-animal creatures.

The minds behind Relic Entertainment are known for one or two RTS gems. With strategy games like Company of Heroes, Dawn of War or Age of Empires IV, the developers have already delivered some great titles.

Now as a maverick, the company wants to shine with smaller titles and the turn-based strategy game Earth vs Mars is supposed to be the beginning, which is supposed to be released on Steam this summer.

Oh no! Martians are attacking Earth

As the name of the game suggests, Earth vs Mars is all about an alien invasion by perfidious Martians. They have spent the last few decades abducting all kinds of creatures from Earth and using them for their gruesome experiments. The result is bizarre hybrids of different animal species, which the aliens want to use to subjugate the Earth.

But it’s not just the invaders who are fighting with these creatures. You too are in possession of the “Splice-O-Trons,” a secret weapon that allows you to create your own creations. So you can rain acid with cheetah flies, bolt through enemy lines with rhino warriors, or set squirrel cows on your foes, all in turn-based battles, of course.
In the single-player campaign, you’ll gradually unlock new combinations to send into battle across 30 missions.

In the single-player campaign, you gradually unlock new combinations that you send into battle in 30 missions. Your units learn new skills in the process and you can unlock different commanders.

There will also be an online multiplayer for 1-on-1 battles. A map editor will also be included so that you can design your own maps and scenarios.

Earth vs Mars is scheduled to be released for PC in summer 2025 You can already put the game on your wishlist on Steam

After the studio was sold by publisher Sega to a group of investors, Relic Entertainment has been on its own again since 2024. In the FAQ about Earth vs Mars , the developers reveal what their plans are.

With the release, the company is launching a new offensive. In addition to working on traditional strategy games like Company of Heroes 3, the company wants to focus on smaller indie games in the future. This way, more games with Relic DNA will be released, which should take a maximum of two years to develop.
