This week on the Epic Games Store, we have something for the artists and fans of Studio Ghibli out there. This week’s gift is called Behind the Frame: The Most Beautiful Picture and is one of the few games in the world where you can wear a beret in front of the screen without looking stupid.

Behind the Frame is an interactive story centered around a young aspiring artist. As the player, you take on the role of the brush and are on the verge of exhibiting your best painting in a gallery.
In point-and-click-adventure, painting is of course the main focus. To work on a picture, you have to use the mouse to select the right color and draw the correct area on the picture.
So you don’t have to paint by hand. You’ll find clues for the desired composition in your notebook and in the surrounding area. The path to it is filled with little puzzles.
Besides your artistic endeavors, you will of course also have to prepare and eat your meals or take a creative coffee break to get new inspiration.
The graphic style is deliberately reminiscent of the anime productions of Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli The animations and everything else in the game are all drawn by hand.
On Metacritic, the game has an average rating of 73. The playable story has been well received, but some critics feel it is simply too short. On Steam, however, this seems to bother very few users; of the 4,400 or so reviews, 95 percent are positive
To enjoy Behind the Frame: You don’t have to be a great painter yourself to you don’t have to be a great painter yourself, just be able to solve the puzzles in the game. If you like the Ghibli style and enjoy relaxed adventures, Behind the Frame can sweeten up a rainy afternoon.
