The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is scheduled for release on PC in spring 2025.

After The Last of Us Part 1 made the transition from console to PC a few years ago, The Last of Us Part 2 is now following suit. And you won’t have to wait long for it either. It’s set to arrive in just four months.

Spring will be nerve-wracking

As the new trailer reveals, The Last of Us Part 2 will be released for the PC on April 3, 2025. And not just any old way, but as a remastered version with improved resolution and an additional roguelike survival mode.

Five years after the events of The Last of Us Part 1, Ellie and Joel have settled in a small town in Wyoming where, despite the living dead, something approaching a peaceful life has been made possible. There she also meets the girl Abby, with whom a bond develops that goes far beyond simple friendship.

But peace does not last forever and so it happens that a violent incident completely destroys the calm. Ellie is now on a relentless quest for revenge in the pursuit of justice.

The press is unanimous, the community is not

The Last of Us 2 is very well received by the press. On Metacritic it was able to achieve a score of 93/ 100 points and won over 300 Game of the Year Awards in 2020.

Among gamers, on the other hand, the game has met with mixed reactions. For example, the gameplay and story twists are negatively noted. The amount of LGBTQAI+-content is also met with dislike by some users. Overall, this has pushed the user score down to a mediocre 5.8.

When The Last of Us Part 1 was ported to the PC, the version had to deal with enormous technical problems. Let’s hope it won’t be the same for the second part.

Have you already played The Last of Us Part 2 on PlayStation 4 or 5 and now want to take a lap of honor on the PC? Or are you now catching up on the game with the port and have left it alone so far? Feel free to let us know in the comments!
