Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang will open CES 2025.
The RTX 4090 will soon be two years old: On October 12, 2022, the flagship of the Ada Lovelace generation celebrated its debut and has since been enthroned above every list of the best and most expensive GPUs.
Given the usual cycle between generations, it’s about time for a successor at Nvidia: the RTX 5090 has been a regular part of leaks in recent months. These rumors have cited either the end of 2024 or CES 2025, which is taking place in Las Vegas (USA) from January 7 to 10, 2025, as the unveiling date.
These leaks have now been given new impetus by an official announcement.
He will give a keynote address at 6:30 p.m. local time – but the announcement did not reveal exactly what it would be about. Usually, such Nvidia keynotes are streamed live on the official YouTube channel; in this country, however, you have to tune in at 3:30 a.m. if you want to be there.
In previous years, Nvidia used CES for other models
Given the frequent rumors surrounding a release of the RTX 5090 at CES 2025, it’s natural to hope that the keynote will indeed be used to introduce the Blackwell flagship. However, for Nvidia, that would represent a departure from previous launches.
In 2024, the Consumer Electronics Show was used to present the mid- to upper-range models around the RTX 40 Super. The year before, Nvidia brought the RTX 4070 Ti to CES; in 2022, the only desktop GPU on display was the RTX 3050.
What you can expect at the Nvidia keynote, however, is the topic of artificial intelligence, which is currently a top priority for the GPU manufacturer. At least in recent years, there has hardly been a keynote or presentation that does not in some way involve Nvidia’s capacities for AI applications.
