A new Mafia was surprisingly announced at the Opening Night Live of gamescom 2024

The Opening Night Live ended with a surprise announcement for all amateur mafiosi. The Mafia trilogy will soon be getting a prequel, which will take you to Sicily in the 1900s and the beginnings of the Italian Mafia.

Nick Baynes, head of Hangar 13, who were already responsible forMafia 3describes the new Mafia like this:

An exciting story set in Sicily in the early 20th century, when the Mafia got its start. We’re going back to the roots of what fans love about the Mafia series and creating adeep, linear narrative with the feel of a classic Mafia movie Mafia’s success is built on our players’ passion for the series and we’re so proud to return to Mafia with The Old Country

More information on Mafia: The Old Country will be released in December. A release date has not yet been announced, but judging by the trailer, the game is expected to be released for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
