For HBO, the seriesThe Last of Uswas the first video game adaptation – and it paid off straight away. The US TV channel is currently working on the second season, which will be released in 2025 at the earliest.
Season 2 will once again feature the main characters Joel (played by Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey). Other actors from the cast are also known.One of the villains can now be seen in a photo posted on X (formerly Twitter).

Isaac Dixon, who leads the Washington Liberation Front in The Last of Us Part 2, will also appear in the second season of the TV series.Dixon will be played by Jeffrey Wright, who already lent his voice to Dixon in the game.
The photo published on Twitter shows Wright in a FEDRA uniform. FEDRA (short for Federal Disaster Response Agency) is one of the last remnants of the US authorities during the events of The Last of Us.
The uniform may hint at the content of the second season. Wearing the uniform could mean that Isaac Dixon is working for FEDRA. Little information about the character was revealed in the game itself

It is officially known that Dixon moved to Seattle after serving in the Marines. The second season could now be about how he came to join FEDRA and why he then turned against them

What exact role Isaac Dixon ultimately plays also depends on the two showrunners Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin. Druckmann is Co-President of Naughty Dog, the development studio behind The Last of Us. Mazin was previously involved in the production of the HBO mini-series Chernobyl, among others.
Actor Jeffrey Wright is known from series such as Westworld and The Batman. He also played CIA agent Felix Leiter in the James Bond films Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace and No Time to Die or BeeTee in The Hunger Games Parts 1 and 2.
For his role as Thelonious “Monk” Ellison in American Fiction, Wright was nominated for an Oscar in 2024.
