Helldivers 2: Major leak reveals tons of new weapons, equipment and even enemies

Brand-new mechs have just landed in Helldivers 2, and now we know what else the developers have planned

Reinforcements are on the way: Helldivers 2 recently announced some new weapons, armor and more in a trailer. According to a leak, however, much more new content is plannedthan that presented in the video. Not only will the arsenal continue to grow, but we will probably also have to deal with completely new opponents

How credible is the leak?  In now-deleted tweets a fan showed gameplay and screenshots from a developer server that is not publicly accessible. The information appears to be authentic, but should still be treated with caution. After all, the developers’ plans may still change and tested content may be postponed or removed.

New enemy faction

Leaked images of new enemies can still be seen on Twitter at the moment. These are the faction of the Illuminate:

These terrifying alien monsters are already part of the Helldivers backstory and appeared as enemies in the previous game. They were actually already defeated in Helldivers 2, but could now return. However, the Illuminate have not yet been officially confirmed as a faction.

New weapons

Some weapons and armor have already been confirmed for the first free content update called Cutting Edge. They also appear in the trailer:

The leaker doesn’t just want to know the exact stats of the new weapons, however, but also about other new equipment. All new primary weapons – whether already announced or just leaked – and their stats can be found here in the overview:

In addition to the new weapons, some stratagems, boosters and support weapons have also been leaked, including:

• BX-7 Displacer Pack: Portable teleportation device that is automatically activated before a fatal hit.
• MLS-4X Commando: Missile launcher with four laser-guided missiles.
• EXO-49 Emancipator Exosuit: A second mech with two automatic cannons.
• ST-1 Stinger: Target-guided missile launcher that captures flying objects.
• MS-220 Missile Silo: Missile with which you can take out targets from a great distance.
• E/GL-6 Trench Wall: Protective wall with mounted grenade launcher, protects against small arms fire. A version with machine gun was also leaked.
