Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor secures a position in the Steam Top 10. The smashing success surprises everyone, including the developer
Surprised developer faces characterize February on Steam. First the makers of Helldivers 2 are overrun by millions of players, then the spin-off Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor goes through the roof to such an extent that even the original looks old in comparison.

It may only
occupy ninth place in last week’s top sellers, but those are serious dimensions on Steam. When we last checked, there were around 57,000 players simultaneously active in  . That should be hundreds of thousands of units sold.
The developer Ghost Ship Games was particularly surprised, as they had not actually intended the small spin-off to overshadow the original. But it happened anyway. Well, they’ll probably get over it
Unlike Deep Rock Galactic, which revolves around co-op mining and insect shooting from a first-person perspective, Survivor ventures into a fairly new genre: reverse bullet hell. You perform automatic attacks as you move (and slaughter) your way through hordes of enemies, learning new techniques and becoming more and more powerful.
