New armor, recipes and more: We finally have new information and a release date for the next big Valheim update
The Viking survival game Valheim has captivated millions of players worldwide since its Early Access launch in 2021. The surprise hit from Iron Gate Studios currently has almost 400,000 reviews on Steam, 95% of which are positive.
Now there’s new information about the big Ashlands update, which will significantly expand the game world.
This is what awaits you in the huge Ashlands update
What’s the update about? The Ashlands, a previously incompletely developed, barren and lava-ridden area on the southern edge of the game world, will be fully integrated in the update and filled with plenty of new content.
What exactly is in it? On (Steam) the developers have presented some new features:
- Flora: You can collect a variety of new robust plant species that only grow in the harsh environment of the Ashlands.
- Cooking Recipes: Delicious cooking recipes such as
Mashed Meat, Piquant Pie and Spicy Marmalade
, made from local Ashland ingredients. - Armor For lovers of Viking fashion, the update promises a range of new outfits to keep you looking dapper as you roam the volcanic wastes.
The latest developer blog also announced new weapons and a huge fortress
A new video series has also been launched on YouTube, in which some of the developers reveal details about the development of the new update. Among other things, the art director of Valheim reveals how the new enemies in the Ashlands were inspired by the T-800 from Terminator 2.
When will the big update be released? There is no exact release date for the Ashland update of Valheim yet, according to Iron Gate the release is planned for the first half of 2024
