(Bro, this is how water works) – Warzone streamer’s complaint backfires

A death in Battle Royale annoys a streamer. But the alleged error he complains about is an intentional gameplay element.

In CoD Modern Warfare 3 and, of course, on the new Warzone map Urzikstan, we can also fire some weapons underwater – but only up to a certain point. Perhaps it was this new feature that confused streamer Faze Santana. Because on Twitter (now called X) he complains about a problem that isn’t actually a problem. The community reacted with amusement:

Functioning as intended

We’ve probably all been there: especially when we lose in multiplayer games, it’s tempting to blame a game mechanic, a bug or a poor internet connection. Santana was also convinced that he had found a bug in the game after he died in Warzone:

Hey, Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software, please check out the water. It seems like you can’t shoot people anymore if they dive deep enough?

Reponses quickly poured in under the post, correcting the streamer’s error. Even one of the community comments introduced on Twitter as a fact check now adorns Santana’s complaint. The statement remains similar everywhere:

In fact, it is physically correct that the projectiles quickly lose power and speed under water and thus no longer cause any damage. Furthermore, this is not a bug, but a conscious decision by the developers. This is also confirmed by the CoD developer (Karine) with the simple answer: Functions as intended

Of course, many players can’t resist making a little fun of the post. For example, (Peak) writes:

Bro has found out how water works.

And (Just Wayne) comments:

Hey, my bullets aren’t flying around the corner, please check this out.

Without winking, many fans also recommend an episode of Mythbusters, in which the behavior of bullets under water is tested. This shows that large-caliber weapons in particular, whose ammunition flies at high speed, are not very effective under water. If you want to see how a 50-caliber rifle shoots at a pool, then watch this YouTube video (euch).

Did you already know how bullets from handguns behave under water or are you similarly surprised at how likely Santana is? Do you think it’s right that Modern Warfare 3 is somewhat realistic at this point or do you think it should be possible to shoot at diving enemies? Let us know in the comments!
