The upcoming survival city builder New Cycle lets you rebuild the lost civilization of mankind. Find out here why you should keep an eye on the game

What kind of game is this? New Cycle is an upcoming survival city builder from Turkish studio Core Engage, backed by German publisher Daedalic Entertainment. In New Cycle, human civilization has come to a spectacular end. This time, however, it wasn’t an alien invasion, a zombie plague or climate change

Rather, there was a devastating solar flare that destroyed all technology. The destruction of all technological infrastructure first led to the collapse of production chains, then to resource shortages and finally to devastating wars.

Some people have sought safety from the catastrophe in shelters and are now crawling back to the surface. But everything is ruined, countless people are dead and the atmosphere is no longer what it used to be due to the solar storm.

Yet you stoically get to work in the game and gradually build up a prosperous industrial metropolis from your little cubbyhole several decades after the downfall, while further catastrophes continue to plague you. New Cycle will be released in Early Access on Steam on January 18, 2024

The features of New Cycle

If you love construction and management games, then you’ll definitely like New Cycle. This is ensured by the following features:

A new beginning: First of all, New Cycle is about saving what can still be saved. The few survivors have nothing but their bare lives and if you don’t quickly satisfy the most primitive basic needs for food and shelter, your new civilization will perish before it can even come into being.

A Future Beyond Survival: Only when the most basic needs of your survivors are secured will you dare to do more. After all, your goal is nothing less than to bring humanity forward again and overcome the effects of the apocalypse.

So you begin to rediscover the knowledge and technology of the old world. Meanwhile, you continue to expand your shabby settlement, build roads, construct communal buildings and gradually build an effective infrastructure.

In the course of time, muddy paths become paved roads and windy tin shacks become mighty factories.

The human factor: In addition to technical and civilizational progress, you should not ignore the human component. Because your people have wishes, hopes and fears. And those who do not respect them will not build a flourishing new civilization.

As the leader of the survivors, you must also make difficult moral decisions and put the good of the community above the happiness of the individual. After all, the post-apocalypse is no picnic!

Courage for a new beginning: But no matter what noble goals you pursue and how effectively you manage, the world is no longer the same after the catastrophe. Due to the solar storm, our planet’s atmosphere is permanently cracked and natural disasters occur regularly, leaving large parts of your new metropolis in ruins again and again.

No amount of moaning and complaining will help, you have to roll up your sleeves again, clear away the rubble and rebuild everything. This may even lead to something even better emerging from the ruins.
If these features and content appeal to you, then look forward to the release on January 18, 2024, because New Cycle is coming soon. (For more information on New Cycle, visit the game’s Steam page)
