Sirens of the Deep is the second animated film from the Witcher universe to be released. We have compiled everything you need to know

While the first animated film from the Witcher universe, Nightmare of the Wolf, had Geralt’s mentor Vesemir as its protagonist, Netflix is once again focusing on the white-haired witcher himself with Sirens of the Deep. Find out everything there is to know about the new film here:

All you need to know about The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep

When will the Netflix film be released?  So far, the streaming provider is still very vague about a release date. (Netflix, however, revealed) that it should be around the end of 2024.

What is Sirens of the Deep about?  The film is based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s short story “A Small Sacrifice” from the collection “The Sword of Providence”.

In the port city of Bremervoord, Geralt is tasked with helping the local prince and gets caught up in an ancient conflict between humans and the people who inhabit the seas.

You can get a first impression in the first trailer for Sirens of the Deep:

Where in Witcher history is the movie set? In the official timeline of the continent, the short story takes place in the year 1261. This means that the plot of the movie takes place between the fifth and sixth episode of the first season of the Netflix series.

Cast and production: While Henry Cavill has bid farewell to the Witcher universe on Netflix with the third season, “another Geralt” is making his debut. Doug Cockle, the English voice actor of Geralt from CD Projekt Red’s games, will once again lend his voice to the film.

Yennefer von Vengeberg, on the other hand, will be voiced by actress Anya Chalotra, as in the series. Her colleague Joey Batey once again plays his larkspur. New to the cast is Christina Wren, who takes on the role of the bard Essi Devan.

Responsible for the production is Studio MIR, who were responsible for Nighmare of the Wolf as well as the popular Avatar spin-off The Legend of Korra.

Netflix is building an ever-expanding film and series universe and is not letting Henry Cavill’s departure slow it down. Did you enjoy the last Witcher animated film and want more? Are you looking forward to more films about Geralt the Witcher? Which stories would you still like to see as a movie or series? Feel free to write your opinion in the comments:
